About DIY Green Home Improvement

DIY Green Home Improvement is meant to be much more than the title implies. I have been in the construction industry my entire life. It has always been a passion of mine. I also know that anyone who thinks of taking on a DIY project to either improve their home, or build themselves a new home, has a similar passion, if not all the knowledge they would like regarding the pursuit of that passion.

I am trained as an electrician and formerly held licensure as a General Contractor. I also have a background in Computer Information Systems and a knack for research and understanding real practicalities and economics relating to trends in home design and construction. That is why I created DIY Green Home Improvement. No matter what your views on Global Warming, we as Americans have as central to our culture a desire to protect the environment and conserve the resources around us. Sometimes it takes a little more time to study the specific choices to make the one that best suits all considerations.

We are approaching a time where very different considerations will begin to shape our decisions on building methods, materials and technologies. In order to make the best possible decision, you need much more information to properly consider the impact of your choices both on you and the world around you. I hope you will find some of that here. We will try to cover the costs,impacts and feasibility of new technology and processes and trends relating to construction and home improvement as they emerge in a central source.
